Turf Tilapia

Nature's Algae Cleanup Crew
Say goodbye to chemicals and hello to a cleaner, greener solution with quality tilapia fingerlings for algae control.
About Turf Tilapia

THE PROBLEM
We work with golf course and community lakes that are plagued by hard-to-control algae species. Filamentous algae quickly develops resistance to common chemicals like copper sulfate. Similarly, blue-green algae like Lyngbya is inedible to most fish, forcing the use of chemicals. Uncontrolled algae destroys natural beauty and the overuse of chemicals generates widespread concern.

THE SOLUTION
Tilapia fingerlings (~1 inch long) are grown at our farm in New Mexico and brought to your lake live by truck. Once transferred to the lake, the tilapia fingerlings get to work munching algae. Depending on the severity of algae, the tilapia typically wipe it out in 2 to 12 weeks. The tilapia will continue to grow and thrive as part of the lake ecosystem.
